The Aletai meteorite is an Iron, IIIE meteorite that is composed of 6 currently known masses totaling 74 tons. All of these masses were originally given names based on cities near where they were found, but later all of these masses were determined to be from the same meteorite and thus adopted the Aletai name. The most recent mass was found in October 2021.
The Aletai meteorite has a large strewn field, about 500 kilometers long. These fragments have the highest concentration of gold of any meteorites in the IIIE group.
