The Brahin meteorite was found in 1810 and was the second meteorite ever found in Russia (now Belarus). The first two masses found weighed 80 and 20 kilograms, and were found by farmers in the village of Kaporenki. Since then, several more masses have been found, with the most recent discovery of 227 kilograms in 2002, at the north end of the Brahin strewn field.

Brahin is a pallasite meteorite, with olivine crystals making up 37% of the weight of the meteorite. The strewn field is approximately 15 kilometers long and 3 kilometers wide, and was contaminated by the Chernobyl disaster in 1986. Meteorite specimens are safe, and not contaminated by radiation.
