Heliodors from the Volyn Deposit (formerly the Volodarsk-Volynskii pegmatite field) are among the most admired examples of this golden beryl variety in the mineral world. The Volyn Deposit in Zhytomyr Oblast, Ukraine, formed over 2 billion years ago in rare chamber pegmatites that allowed exceptionally large and high-quality crystals to grow deep underground.
Historically, the area was mined for industrial piezoelectric quartz beginning in 1931, but gem-quality minerals such as heliodor and topaz only became known to the wider collector market in the late 20th century, with heliodor gaining prominence in the 1980s as fine crystals reached shows in Europe and the U.S.
Collectors prize Volyn heliodors for their rich yellow to green-yellow hues, exceptional clarity, and often dramatic natural etching and growth features that reflect their slow formation history. These specimens combine strong gem-like aesthetics with classic mineralogical character, making them standout pieces in both fine mineral and gem collections.

Returns are accepted within 14 days of delivery according to the tracking information on the order. Items must be returned in new/unused/undamaged condition to receive a full refund. Items returned to us damaged or not in original condition will receive a partial refund. Refunds will be issued to the original payment method on the order.
If a return is made for reasons other than an error on our part, a 20% restocking fee will apply and will be deducted from any refund due.
