A wonderful trio of colorless fluorite cubes sit atop this specimen, with blades of calcite and a few smaller fluorite cubes below. The calcite will fluoresce under a long-wave UV light. The base of this specimen has been cut and will sit perfectly flat.
The largest cube has a small fluid inclusion with a moving bubble. The bubble moves slightly inside the pocket. See last photo directly in the center to see the bubble.
Fluorite occurs in a variety of colors, or can be colorless. Among the mineral kingdom it exhibits one of the widest varities of colors. Impurities in the Fluorite cause its colorations. It is a very common mineral that occurs throughout the world and is the only mineral that large quantities of elemental fluorine can be extracted from. England has produced some of the best specimens of Fluorite, most notably from the Rogerly Mine.
