This rare collector-grade specimen of permineralized conifer wood comes from the Upper Eocene epoch and features a mesmerizing, shimmering coating of microscopic druzy quartz crystals. It was collected from a historic brown coal open-pit mine in Zwenkau, Saxony, Germany. Because this mining site is now completely flooded and inaccessible, no new specimens will ever be recovered, making it a highly finite and collectible piece. Unlike fully petrified wood that has entirely turned to stone, this specimen is permineralized. This means the exterior and internal cavities are encrusted in sparkling quartz that preserves ancient cellular details, while the interior core still contains lightweight, organic mummified wood. The result is a striking, natural contrast between ancient wood structure and brilliant crystal growth. Returns are accepted within 14 days of delivery according to the tracking information on the order. Items must be returned in new/unused/undamaged condition to receive a full refund. Items returned to us damaged or not in original condition will receive a partial refund. Refunds will be issued to the original payment method on the order.
If a return is made for reasons other than an error on our part, a 20% restocking fee will apply and will be deducted from any refund due.
