Azurite is a soft blue copper mineral produced by weathering of copper ore deposits. It is a basic carbonate and has been known since ancient times with Pliny the Elder calling it "kuanos". It has been used for thousands of years as pigment for art and clothing.
This specimen, from the Mikheevskiy Mine, has great luster on its deep blue crystals.
